Gosh, it is really spring down in NM! (envious) I’m Patrick-starved. How is he doing, adapting, is he like he’s always been in this happy place, does he still have hang ups, who is he bonding with the most etc ?? I’m begging for a long Patrick post! P.S. I like the way Bernard is taking Don for a walk
Wow he’s such a lucky donkey, and I’m sure he has no idea–his antics could land him in permanent timeout with anyone less patient than you two. Instead, he gets to go out and socialize.
Bernard’s like the Curious George of Donkeydom. Better buy Don a yellow hat!
Beautiful animal colors. Did Don bring home the goat kids? I would have tucked one in my pocket.
I see that Bernard is preparing to take walks by himself in the last picture.
The critters around your block are so cute, but Bernard is especially handsome in his red halter Don-you look so proud walking with your little buddy. You two make quite a wonderful pair!!!
Thanks for sharing some of the sweet neighborhood babies with us!
Sue
I *love* donkey walks!
Now wouldn’t it be funny to see all your boys out in halters and lead ropes, walkin’ the neighborhood? You’d need a few extra human hands, that’s for sure – but what an adventure that would be!
Oh, what fun!! I completely agree with Cee Cee – I would have been tempted to “kid-nap” a baby goat.
I love that your surroundings are greening up. I noticed tree buds up here and I’m sure my lawn is starting to grow under the winter accumulation of debris…
The cows are the most beautiful red color — even their noses match color. I love how curious and friendly they look. I think they’ve been taken care of with love. The little kids are absolutely adorable. And I loved seeing Bernard enjoying his neighbors as he took his walk with Don. Thank you for sharing your beautiful life.
Okay, that’s it! This set of pics has done it! You NEED to write a childrens book! Not joking. What better series of books for children than that of the boys? big grin

Awww…good to see him getting out for a stroll. Will he ever be a riding donk? He has a great mind for sure (and what a goofball).
Those goats were adorable!
March 28, 2011 at 6:44 am
C,
Bernard is probably too small to ever be a riding donk. He wants to be a driving donk when he grows up.

Flartus,
And Bernard really, really loves it. Don was saying yesterday that Bernard is the “Goodwill Ambassador of Morning Bray Farm.”

Those little billies are so adorable and isn’t Bernard holding the leash in his mouth?
March 28, 2011 at 6:46 pm
Meemaw,
Yes, Bernard is holding the lead rope in his mouth. You aren’t surprised, are you?

CeeCee,
I do seem to remember saying to Don, “I want those baby goats!”
They were SO cute.
And yes, Bernard is a big fan of walking himself.

How nice to have a constitutional, and visit all the neighbors.
Love the color in that last shot!
All blue and green and neutrals, with just a bit of red……
March 28, 2011 at 7:38 pm
Vicki,
Thank you.
It really was a nice walk… Bernard was on his very best behavior.
March 28, 2011 at 10:03 am
Great photos! I love the cows – calves? And are the goats yours? Beautiful colors. But Bernard is the best!
March 28, 2011 at 7:41 pm
Nancy,
Cows and calves.
The goats in this post are not ours… they were super cute though, weren’t they?
March 28, 2011 at 10:21 am
HA! They all look curious about each other don’t they?!! CUTE! Nothing like a Bernard walk about! Thanks for all the SWEET pics! Sure makes my day!
March 28, 2011 at 7:44 pm
Cinda,
Everyone did seem to be quite curious.
You’re very welcome!

“I took my donkey for a walk
and what did he see?
An orange cow looking
right back at me
I took my donkey for a stroll
and what did he spy?
a baby goat by a fence
only half a donkey high.
I took my donkey for a jog
and what did he say?
Well of course my dear
you know – Morning Bray!”
March 28, 2011 at 7:45 pm
Winter,
Have I told you lately how much we love you? You’re one of a kind. The best kind. xoxoxo

Cathy,
It’s greening up fast, too. It’ll be green up your way in no time.
March 28, 2011 at 2:34 pm
How did you know I needed a good dose of adorableness today? We heart Bernard… and those goats are too cute for words!
March 28, 2011 at 7:49 pm
Tammy,
We just had a feeling…

Bernard would be a good storyteller though…
March 29, 2011 at 3:36 pm
What a beautiful family you have. I’m so envious…both of Albuquerque and the donkeys!
The kids are simply cuddle-able.
March 29, 2011 at 9:44 pm
Deborah,
Thank you.
