Our beautiful donkey boy had a busy day yesterday. He played chess with his rocks:
Had a deep conversation with his good friend, GK:
Was a trusty steed for the first time in his life. Oh goodness, Bernard was so proud:
Ry thanked Bernard with a hug afterwards. I heard Ry say to Bernard, “I love you.” Melt my heart.
If you know Bernard, you know he always wants needs something to do. After such a busy morning, Bernard still insisted on helping his dad carry a big, heavy bucket.
I will never be able to express how much I love this beautiful boy. ♥

He’s got such a fun personality! He could be the poster child for promoting donkey love around the world. Loved the pic of him giving his first little person ride. I think he’s found his niche!

He is amazing. I am proud of him, too! He really is a clever boy; an ambassador for the dignity of all donkeys. (Wait, did I say “dignity?” For Bernard? I must need some coffee…)

He really is one of a kind:) Such a sweet boy.

I wonder what Bernard wants to be when he grows up? I believe he is destined for greatness of some kind, other than the sort that keeps us all entertained.

Carson,
We were talking about this very subject yesterday. I believe the same thing.

Bernard is a wonder donkey. Makes us all smile, makes our hearts melt, and still has enough of his magic left to share and delight us as well. I wish everyone could have seen his grace and confidence as he got himself a job carrying the kids. He was one proud donkey. I think he would be a perfect therapy donkey. He always soothes what ails me, that’s for sure.

I think Bernard could write a really good children’s book about life at Morning Bray. He is such a charmer and really smart.
Have you ever thought of adding the sound of the burros/donkeys braying when people open up your blog? It could start everyone’s day with a smile.

I agree, he is most definitely destined for greatness.

He picks those rocks up and moves them around?
January 23, 2012 at 5:54 pm
Lynette,
Yes, he picks them up and moves them… and pushes them around… both.

So great seeing Bernard helping his dad carry a heavy bucket!
January 24, 2012 at 6:06 am
Bernard’s Internet connectin must be down, can you tell him Tia Winter said “pawn to queen’s four”
Thanks, I think he’s almost got me in check!
January 24, 2012 at 3:33 pm
Question — did Bernard help dad carry the bucket where it was supposed to go, or where Bernard wanted it to go?
January 24, 2012 at 4:34 pm
Ha. Good question! I think a little bit of both actually… Don has been able to get Bernard to start following his lead on occasion, but as you can imagine, it’s usually Bernard dancing to the beat of his own drum. Bernard seems to get so excited about having a job that he goes off into his own world…

I love that last picture.
He’s one special donkey!
