So you know who’s who… in order:
Bernard, then Ellsworth (stinker cut the corner), then Fergus, and last but certainly not least, Nigel.
Bernard is having so much fun. He always seems to be floating effortlessly when he runs.
On the first day, the boys are acting and moving as a herd. Yipee!

Bernard doesn’t even go up and down when he runs, does he? Does he have little invisible wings that help him float along like that?
And that looking over his shoulder (“Betcha can’t catch me!”) at Ellsworth, who takes up the challenge.
What fun!

June,
I absolutely, positively love that looking over his shoulder thing he does… OMG. It does look like he has wings, doesn’t it?

Phaedra,
Fergus will come to us to take a carrot or a slice of apple, but will not let us touch him yet. Nigel is still quite shy… he is okay as long as there’s another donkey or burro between us and him. They’ll definitely come around in time. 🙂

I notice they all line up at the end as if they were in competitive showing. Smart boys and you picked great names.

Oh lord…I watched this over and over and over…I laughed so loud when I realized that Bernard was looking over his shoulder the whole time making sure everyone was following. You definitely have a true “herd” now. I love it!!
