I don’t know if we’ll ever understand Meggie’s behavior. We trimmed some trees and bushes back yesterday afternoon and shared the cuttings with all of the critters. While everyone else happily dug in, it seemed that Meggie first needed to show the plum-tree branch who was in charge.

That is just TOO funny … did she ever settle down the ‘dig in’?

Love your pets, I get a good laugh. They are all wonderful, especially the “donkeys”

Gee! She was really giving that branch what for, wasn’t she!
Angus does that with his food, too, to the extent that he is hungry, happy and excited to see it. He bats at his dish and rattles it all around.
When we have Picnic Kibble on the patio (I put it right on the stones), he bats the individual kibbles around and chases them.
When the kibble is absolutely killed, he eats it.

Itchy head? Nesting intinct?
Or, maybe she just didn’t like her snack stuck in the fence? At any rate, she’s cute!

C,
I’d like to think that this behavior was because her snack was stuck in the fence. Alas, based on her previous behavior, I know it was not. 😉

C in WI may be right about the twig being stuck in the fence and it may be that she is struggling to get it out of that “hole.” What happened at the end, I am curious??? 🙂

MeMaw,
In the end, Meggie continued to fight with the branch, then ate some of the leaves, continued to fight with the branch, then chewed some of the bark off the branch, then continued to fight with the branch…

Too funny! Did Bernard get some too since he’s too short to reach ’em?

I think Meggie has an aversion to change and she is eager for the Morning Bray routine to return to normal.

Oh, the bell! Maybe she just liked hearing her bell ring.
I love the other goats calmly munching away as she pawed (?hoofed?) away at the branches.
I’m glad that Bernard got some, too.

I can’t stop watching this, it’s so funny. I think she wants it free of the fence. She is a determined goat. The others just munch away, paying no attention to her. I guess they are just used to her being a little eccentric.

Maybe she thought she needed to “kill” the food before eating it:))

Well…speaking from experience, it really does help to vent every once in a while. Better to let it out on a tree, I suppose.
