You might remember a post about Cecil from several weeks ago. Just as we call all of our barn swallows Cecil, all of our squirrels are called Lenny.
Lenny was in the inner sanctum of the Hairy Hacienda yard when Don took these pictures. Oh dear.
Hun, pleeeese be careful about coming into this yard. The last time Lenny ventured in here, he met a not so pleasant fate.
And, dude. Are you eating my plants?
For Cathy R… we promise we will. 😀

I was sitting on the deck Sat. evening watching the squirrels play when a big ol deer ran the yard! Hope you guys had a good 4th.

Rosanne,
Cute. 😉 I just don’t want him to be eaten! 🙂 Lenny is venturing into the yard more and more, which worries me. We’ve been feeding him in the barn in the hopes that he’ll not be tempted to come into the yard. Thankfully, the dogs spend most of their days sleeping in the house and don’t realize he’s out there. Alas, they do have a doggy door…

“No, I’m not eating your plants. One of your Hairy Hounds is paying me with dogfood to come into the yard, so you can blog about me.” “Later, they’ll pretend to give chase and I’ll outstep them and just make it up the tree.”
“My sister’s, brother-law’s, next door neighbor’s, babysitter’s, cousin’s, father’s, second-cousin’s uncle, paid your Hairy Hounds to kill the last Lenny. Just fyi. “

I’m sure Lenny thought you put out a spread just for him. What thoughtful hosts you are.

I suspect he was eating seeds or something similar. They really don’t eat plants, which is a good thing or my garden would be eaten to bits with all the squirrel who visit here. But they love pine cone seed, and flower pod seeds and bird seeds, and…
Head for the trees, Lenny!

C,
That’s good to know… I wasn’t 100% sure. Someone or something is eating my plants though. I was pretty darn sure it was Whisky until I saw those pictures though… 🙂

Lenny? LOL I love that!
Squirrels remind you all things are possible – especially when they break into the squirrel proof feeder.

Winter,
You’re absolutely right! Relatively speaking, we have so few squirrels here in Albuquerque compared to what I had in Maryland. And holy cow, it was “war” in Maryland. 🙂

Oh, please. You absolutely HAVE to name one of the squirrels “Squiggy.”
