My dad came to visit this weekend.
It was his first time meeting Fergus and Nigel. You would’ve never known.
Nigel took a keen interest in my dad.
Fergus made sure he got scritches from PeePaw. (Don’t miss the look on Fergus’s face.)
Aww, Nigel… ever working up the courage to get closer.
Of course you knew it was inevitable… The Bernard and Ellsworth Show soon followed. Bernard thought pretending to tell PeePaw a secret…
…was the perfect ruse to make an attempt at eating PeePaw’s glasses.
My dad and Ellsworth found that amusing. Bernard then tried to eat my dad’s shoes,
…then wanted to play cone. (Good golly, look at the farmer tan on that woman.)
Ellsworth gave PeePaw a hug…
Then my dad gave Ellsworth a hug…
Then… here’s my new tattoo, up close! The top freeze mark is Fergus’s… the one below is Nigel’s. If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out Carson’s blog today to get the scoop on how it all went down.

I promise yours didn’t hurt as bad as hers. I have a big one that takes up my entire lower back, and it didn’t hurt as much as the little ones on my ankles.

I love the love that is going on between the boys and your dad, and all the fun they are having.
Cool tattoo too! Be honest now, did it hurt at all?

Aw, you guys really did it! Congrats on being so brave.
And it looks like you left plenty of room for future additions to your BLM herd!

What a great story, and what devoted donkey parents you both are… love the tattoos!!
Fabulous pictures, and it’s very obvious that PeePaw meets the approval of the donks as well. Sweet!!

I think Nigel really likes your dad- his eyes are so soft in these photos. Maybe your dad can give him some special attention today; maybe Nigel has picked him.

Awwww…so cute. They seem to be such loving animals. Not like my house kitty, who’s only affectionate when she wants food. 😦

The look on Nigel’s face is precious! He is wanting some lovin real bad-just still a little too shy to go for it. I’m sure it will happen soon. It’s nice that your boys all took advantage of having their PeePaw around! I had to laugh at your comment about your farmer’s tan-mine is even worse! LOL I’m not a tat person-but yours are the coolest I’ve seen so far.

Looks like bliss, on Fergus’s face….. 🙂
He’s thinking “THIS guy knows JUST how to do it!”
🙂
One day…. One day, Nigel will also hug….
Bernard trying to nibble everything……
When we first got Wilbur, any time he was left alone, he would dismantle something.
(He absolutely freaked in a crate. I felt he was safer loose in the house…..)
He would find something that we weren’t even sure where it had been, and take it apart.
A troll doll — remove hair, remove the clothing, remove one arm.
Once he had taken something apart, he never messed with that kind of thing again.
It felt like he was a little kid with a screwdriver. “Wonder what’s inside of THIS???”
🙂
I finally got a whole bag full of different little stuffed toys, with different textures, etc, from the thrift store, and we’d dump that bag on the floor just before we left. Those toys would be picked up when we got home, so they stayed “special”….
The last thing he got into in that way (guess he outgrew it….) was a bag of those very cheap spider rings that people might give out at Halloween. That’s why I’d gotten them, but I’d never given them out, so they were bound for the thrift store.
When we got home the plastic spider rings were scattered all over the house.
There was no evidence that he’d chewed any, but there was one here, one there, one somewhere else…..
🙂
I get the same “exploratory” feeling about Bernard.
“Hmmm. What’s this, and what happens if you crunch it a bit?”
🙂

Tears in my eyes at the way Nigel is VERY curious about your dad – the shy one is getting closer every day…….soon…….

Your dad has a good vibe. I can feel it all the way up here in Canada. He’s very handsome, too. *smile* Did Nigel ever work his courage up enough to get a hug of his own?
Love the tattoos. Well done. I really think it’s a great choice you & Linda both made to have those brands inked on your body parts. Love ’em.
