Such conflict.
Meggie hates being touched, yet loves to be scratched.
Thankfully, we’ve worked out an arrangement that suits her just fine.
She really digs a good stick scratch.
But Heavens to Murgatroyd, you gotta lean into it.
Reeeeely lean into it.
And don’t we all know, there’s nothing wrong with a girl gettin’ what she wants the way she wants it. ♥

Haven’t heard “Heavens to Murgatroid” since forever. Made me laugh.
You go Meggie girl…every gal should get it the way she wants it!

HA! Exactly. And I love the heavens to murgtroid statement…. didn’t some cartoon character way back when say that a lot?

I love that you work out a way to love on her, despite her dislike of being touched. She doesn’t know what she’s missing though. 🙂

Wonder why she hates to be touched? Are the other goats the same way? Did you see Carson’s Sat. post? It featured ur own little Bernard…. so cute!

Nancy,
Who knows?! Her brother, Herbie, was the sweetest goat ever. In the whole, wide world!
Yes, I saw Carson’s Sat. post… it’s one of my favorites! 🙂

I am laughing my behind off at these pictures! How lucky Meggie is that you have found a way to scratch her itches…on her terms!
On a side note, do you have any trouble with your goats having horns? I’d like to have goats one day and I’d prefer they have horns, but I hear so many conflicting stories…
My dad used to say that I was one who wanted what I wanted when I wanted it. And, I ask you, what is wrong with that???

Lilla,
Interesting that you ask the question about horns. On one hand, there are days I wish they didn’t have their horns… especially having a goat that is lacking in the “love department” as Meggie is some days. But then again, if you watch the goats, their horns come in mighty handy for them. You should see the looks of pleasure on their faces as they scratch themselves with their horns… especially those middle of the back, hard to reach regions… it’s nirvana for them!
In my opinion, not an easy call. I too hear so many conflicting stories… It’s much easier having a nice goat with horns than a not so nice goat with horns though! 🙂
