There were no warning barks this time, which leads us to believe she was stalking the skunk at 6 am yesterday morning.
Don and I were in the kitchen getting ready for our day when Kassie came in shaking her head and gagging. The stink hit us like a brick wall.
The Baby was quickly escorted into the garage for her de-skunking bath.
Lord have mercy, there’s never a dull moment around here.
She’s an old pro at this now. This is the second time for her this year, which you could argue is a blessing…
…she was sprayed four times last year, after all.
We’ve given up thinking that she’ll listen to us when we tell her those black kitties are bad, bad, bad.
She knows they are, but she just can’t help herself.
‘Cause she’s my Baby, my Kassie, my little Baby Kassie.
Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
By the way, if you need the recipe for a skunk solution that really works, you’ll find it on this post.

Oh, that’s not good. “Aroma Sensations” eh? I pray that’s one recipe I never need.

Bet those ingredients are a staple in YOUR pantry! Ha-ha. Loved the post, and my sympathies to Kassie. I know how they can’t help themselves…it’s just bred in them to chase those cute little wood kitties.

Oh,no, not again! Poor Kassie had to take that bath to remove all the stink from her. Funny no skunks all summer and now. Could it be hibernating during the summer or what? Guess we will never know… Cheer up, Kassie for MeMaw is coming to town soon!

Oh no!! Poor Kassie and mom and dad!
I’ve heard (from my vet) that dogs that get into it with skunks and porcupines never can resist getting into it with them again. A whole family of dogs, and only one or two will continually go after them. Maybe the first time is an accident and all the other times are revenge?

Poor baby? Nuh-uh, no sympathy from this quarter! I am very grateful there’s no smell-ternet available; I can’t even imagine…well, yes I can. 😀 Ugh!!

Wilbur, who is generally a very smart boy, has been sprayed three times in our suburban back yard.
Sheesh.
We swear by Nature’s Miracle Skunk-Off.
I think the skunk must have moved on; it’s been a while since his last encounter……

Oh, poor Kassie. Your “instinkts” got the better of you and now you need to be de-stinked.
One of my friends swears that Scope mouthwash is really good as a final rinse to deskunk dogs…

Oh, that is one guilty looking face. It’s hard to hide that little error in judgment, isn’t it Kassie? Are you sure you’re not a burro in doggie disguise?

No skunkings here, but dear Handsome has still not learned to NOT eat the stink bugs that then make him drool for 3 hours non-stop. Pets… gotta love ’em!

Sonia,
Unfortunately, we don’t have a recipe to repel skunks… only one to remove the smell after they’ve sprayed.
If you happen to find a skunk repellant, please let me know! 😀

oh the smell of it all….poor Baby Dog.
We had a skunk in our last neighborhood that took a disliking to Joe’s Mustang….stinky car, at least once a week…..and then the critter just moved on. Never did figure out what the car had done to make the black kitty angry. Looks like you’ve laid in supplies for the season of the pee-yew-wee.
