I cut two very late Roses the other day when a big rainstorm was due that would have dashed them to bits. There’s two more buds struggling along outside but don’t think they’ll have time to open before Winter hits. The deep freeze is late this year, but it’s coming 😦
If we’re gone for a day or two, we’re fortunate to have a dogsitter who doesn’t mind filling water and throwing hay in the feed tubs for the goats/sheep/donkeys while we’re away.
Wow, thanks! All of our roses were here when we moved here and I had no idea what kind these were. I just looked up fairy rose, and yup, looks like that’s what they are! 🙂
Your roses are in much better shape than the ones here! I don’t know why all the ones I am seeing now are red or dark pink, but they are. Haven’t seen a light pink one in a long time.
I always envy those who can actually get roses to BLOOM. Mine seem to grow lots of lush green stems and leaves, but rarely give me flowers. It’s probably me not doing something right that they need. Yours are gorgeous.
Do you remember that bold bee photo from this summer I told you would make a gorgeous card? Well, this first rose picture should be added to that collection. I love the delicacy and softness of the focus.

There is something about pink that makes me look and look and look. All the different shades and petal shapes . . . makes me feel peaceful.
Thanks.

Gayle,
Yes, they’re in bloom now. I was so surprised to find them while I was walking around the yard yesterday morning. They made me smile. 😀

Oh how LOVELY! Is the fairy rose? It looks a lot like the pink rose I have, and it’s still blooming too.
Thank you.

Nancy,
Thank you. It looks like we’ve finally figured out that it’s the fairy rose. They are shrub roses and just a tiny few remain in bloom.
