Aw…I love happy endings! So happy Nicholas got one, finally. Cudos to his new Mom for having room for one more.

I think it must be noted that donkeys are smart beyond measure. They forgive stupidity, passivity, and cruelty.
What happened to Nic’s jaw? My horse’s coat turned white where there had been damage to the skin. Did he have something burrow into him (halter maybe?)

I love Shaeffer! And I posted this story on Facebook the other day because it makes me so happy. And also it saves me from loading up my trailer and driving to PrimRose to save all the donkeys:-))

Love the view in the first shot! Had to read Nicholas’s story, as he shares my name. You gotta wonder about people who would do that. And kudos to Stephanie for taking the time to show him how good life is!

I’m so glad you had the link to Shaeffer’s place and the wonderful story of Nicholas’s rescue. I followed the pictures on the right side of that post quite a ways down – the “before” pics of donkeys’ hooves are horrifying! I’ve never been around donkeys or other equine types, but even I know that hooves must be trimmed!!!

Justina, Thank You for posting the link to Sheaffer’s story about Nicholas.
I’m looking forward to other peoples’ stories and photos appearing in “For Love 0f Donkeys”. (Hint, Hint!)
Cee Cee, don’t worry about Nicholas’ jaw. The white band in that location is a fairly common feature among Donkeys. Bernard has one too. So does my Rabbit !

Oh…I’m so happy for Nicholas and would love to give the family who cared so much and so well for him a great big hug. Then I would charge his original owners with animal abuse and send him/them to jail. Ignorance is no excuse. Hmpf.
