How ironic that we were talking about burro’s tails earlier this week, even if we were talking about plants.
Bernard’s donkey tail is perfectly fine.
So is Ellsworth’s.
Nigel’s burro tail is fine too.
Fergus’s tail… well, that’s another story.
What or who is responsible for taking the long hairs from our handsome boy’s tail?
Fergus isn’t talking and inquiring minds want to know.

Hmmmm….around here I’d be pointing a finger at Gimli the Goat!

I smell a goober there. Does he have “fine” hairs stuck in his little toofies?

Is it a sign of Spring coming?
Is he shedding from back to front?

Goats. Does he back up to a shared fence with Leland and Meggie and Abigail when you’re not looking?

Yup, I’m thinking goats, too.
If not them, then it must be barnyard fairies. 🙂

Lol How funny that you would post this today! Two of our horses have beautiful long tails. The third one currently has a tail that is half the length it used to be. We couldn’t figure out what had happened to his tail. Recently we were sitting on the porch watching the boys play…and you guessed it. Russell was tugging on Hawk’s tail. That goober just stood there and let Russ chew on his tail! Mystery solved.

Now, do you think that someone/something is really taking bits of his tail away or is he just cursed, like many of us, with bad (tail) hair?
Chester’s tail is right nice, but Beau’s is pretty stubby and erratic… it could just be Fergus’ burden to bear.

Well, of COURSE my first thought was Barnyard. But the goat experts probably know better.
Poor Bernard. He really does bring it on himself, though…

Looks like someone is chewing tails!!!
When I bought my mare as a two year old, her tail had been chewed, up to the tailbone. Her little sister chewed her tail off!

C’mon Fergus. Cough it up – who’s robbing you of what should be a beautiful tail like your brothers? Poor Fergus.

My thought was exactly the same as Flartus…..
“Hmmmm, if someone has been chewing on something, especially something attached to one of his brothers, who is that likely to be?”
