Patrick met his brothers yesterday evening.
I don’t think I could be more proud of Ellsworth. His behavior with Patrick was nothing like it was when we introduced Fergus and Nigel to Morning Bray Farm.
The vet came to see Patrick yesterday morning and all is well. He’s a tad bit underweight, but we’ll fix that in no time. We’ll have the full story on the introductions tomorrow. Turns out I took over 400 pictures in less than an hour last night!
Thank you all for your incredibly kind and supportive comments over the last couple of days. ♥♥♥

Bernard and Patrick look like bookends in that first photo!
I wonder if Ellsworth was being especially kind since he was also a neglected donkey at one time? Such sweet photos. So glad they are getting along with no drama.

I am so glad it was easy this time. I wonder who he will end up grouping with, and if he lines up in the evening against the barn with the others.

I can hear him say “Oh Boy donkey friends”
He looks Ellsworth’s size. Saddle in two years??

Oh, such a tease! I was thinking about Patrick all day yesterday, wondering what would come next and how he was doing.
Now I have to work on telling who’s who between him and Barnyard in your pics.

400 pictures in an hour! If you can’t edit them down, I think it’s safe to say we all won’t mind looking at every single one of them.

With any donkey who has been abused/neglected it is very important to move forward in their life. Having a balanced herd and encouraging normal behavior and leaving behind what has happen to him. In no time he should perk up and be a normal donkey.

It looks like all in well with the boys. Patrick probably told the boys he’d be happy being bottom man…as long as he has friends! Patrick looks a lot like Bernard with more hair. 🙂

Ellsworth is a smart boy. He realized when Fergus and Nigel came in that he didn’t get any less love. So he can be very welcoming to Patrick.
I’m noticing that my cheeks are sore, and it must be from all of the smiling when I think about Patrick’s story.

Wow. He looks like he knows that’s where he belongs. Bernard is saying, “I’m the goober, I can’t wait to play with you.” Ellsworth is saying, “I’m the leader, you may follow me.” He’s figuring out everyone’s role and their confidence makes him feel secure. I bet you’ll see him running and playing very soon:-)

I’m just amazed at how quickly he is progressing. Has he ever been with other donkeys? Just two days and he’s experienced so much change. He seems up to it, too. He does look so much like Bernard except with a lot more hair. He seems like a sweet and gentle soul. I think about you bringing him home a lot during the day and have a big smile on my face. And I love that you took 400 pictures! I’ve never used Flickr, but that could be a solution to showing more than you could in a blog post. However it works for you to share, I’m loving it. Blessings to all of you.

I’ve got a cute story for you about your new donkey and his bros. My grand Ry as you know is Autistic and is in a blended K/1 class. He has trouble fitting in socially with others and will kinda hang back and do his own thing alone. Ry was so sad to see Patrick’s before pictures and even cried when I was telling his Mom the Patrick saga, he has a very kind heart and olde eyes. Anyway, he was happy when the “ladies” donkey sat with Patrick but was thrilled this morning upon seeing the pictures of Patrick with DA BOYZ, Ry says >oh thank goodness Oma, Patrick gets to graduate to 1st grade…..aren’t you proud of him?” A happy boy for a happy little burro. The Olde Bagg, Linda
