Molly, my first corgi, would retrieve as long as anyone would throw for her, and retrieving from water? The best of all. She’d swim out and fetch a stick (or a ball) all day long, long past the point of trembling fatigue.
Corgis really *can* swim and bark at the same time…..
🙂
Molly loved all “natural water,” but baths?????? Not a chance (remembering that Whiskey loves his bath). She would go into a wading pool to retrieve a ball, if she really couldn’t reeeeeach it from any part of the outside, but she’d be right back out, the minute she had the ball.
My second corgi, Sophie, didn’t like baths, either, but loved the wading pool. She’d go in and lie down…. Both she and Buzz loved chasing the spray from the hose…. 🙂
Absolutely. It’s a lot harder for us to have one-on-one time for the girls though… if we take one away from the others, the ones left behind go berserk! 🙂
I love the butt in the air picture… my little dog would do that whenever he wanted to play. Great shots Justina… you’re just getting better and better w/that camera!
Oh my! I had no idea you had a chessie! I’ve owned two…Chester and Chloe. They are the most fun dogs ever! Mine were big talkers-looks like Whiskey is too? Seeing these photos brings back some wonderful memories. I especially love the last few head shots of Whiskey…he has that deep intense look that is so typical of chessies.
Leland’s still up and around… we’re very thankful for that. He’s eating well (no grain!) and we’re doing everything we can to get him to drink more water. He’s still peeing in drops… some days better than other. We just got ammonium chloride and will begin treating him with that today, so please keep your fingers crossed for him. xoxo
I love these photos, however my initial reaction is “stinking wet dog.” I’m sorry doggies, mine included, you just don’t smell good when wet and it’s a long drive home.
OK, my favorite photo is the one where Whisky is fully submerged, lying in the water, soaking wet, gnawing on the stick. That dog is in the canine equivalent of Heaven, and is totally “blissed out”.
I’m considering coming back as Whisky in my next life. 🙂
I really like reading your blog and seeing what the boys are up too. a wonderful bunch of donkeys.
This has nothing to do with this posts but I just read where a military group that had been in Iraq kept a donkey for a pet. they have returned to the states and just this week were able to bring the donkey to the states. it is named smoke because of its color, you might like to goggle it and read the story. heart warming.
He’s looking like he feels a lot better, but still peeing in drops. At times though, the drops are more rapid, almost like a stream. That tells us he’s still got some stones in his bladder/urethra, but as long as he’s acting like he feels better, we’ll take it.
When we saw the vet on Friday, she told us that we should resume their pasture time because exercise would be good for Leland… so, they’re out in the pasture now as I type. Leland’s appetite is definitely back. 🙂 No more sweet feed, though!
Thank you so much for asking about him. Have a great Sunday. Hugs.

Isn’t it funny how they all have their quirks? You are the most amazing dog mamma knowing your babies so well. 😀
I tried to catch up on your blog this morning – just when I finally had a few moments – and Blogger was down! Waaah! I promise to catch up soon. xoxo
