Once we learned that our new friend Ry had fallen in love with Patrick, Don and I both agreed there was no question about it… Ry had to come and meet Patrick in person.
Ry did just that yesterday.
Ry’s sister, Gerea came to visit as well. She fell in love with Ellsworth.
And Ellsworth with her.
Gerea is a beautiful young lady and an incredible big sister to Ry.
Ry gave Patrick watermelon.
Ry was extremely happy about that. (So was Patrick.)
Ry and Gerea’s mom, Shelley, fell in love with Fergus.
So did Gerea.
Ry told Don that he wants to be a farmer when he grows up.
We think Ry will be a wonderful farmer.

I followed the links and read at Ye Olde Crone’s Gazette, and this is just a big “Awwwww…” all ’round.
You’re nice people.
With nice animals.

What a touching post this morning. I’m wiping my eyes so I can see my own typing!
Patrick had no idea how many human lives he touched when he was rescued, and now he’s passing the goodness on to Ry. Animals are such great therapy, and I love how it goes both ways when they are loved back. Keep up the good work MBF donks and Don and Justina.

Casa de Cuckoo is so blessed by your hospitality. We all knew we already loved the donks but now that we got to meet you and Don, we love you all. Thanks from farmer Ry, donkey devotee for life Gerea, Mom Shelley and The Olde Bagg.

That’s a sweet story about a special day. In my experience, children with Autism often have an uncanny bond with animals. My stepdaughter is mildly autistic and had a wonderful bond with her horse. Had I known about donkeys when she was young, I would have definitely had a few for her to fuss over.

There’s a donkey out there for everyone. My favourite shot was Ry’s reaction to feeding the watermelon treat. Unbridled joy, there. What a great day. I miss all your boys and would love to meet your ducks….especially Isabelle. I can’t help it. She’s my favourite. *smile*
