We wrapped up a wonderful visit yesterday with Don’s sister, Debbie.
From the moment she arrived, she dug in to help with chores around Morning Bray Farm.
The first morning she was here, Debbie and I hung out in the corral waiting for presents from all the boys.
For the record, two hours is a long time to wait for a donkey to poo.
You know you have an awesome sister-in-law when she’s willing to ride in the car on the way to the vet with five bags of donkey poo in the back seat.
On Sunday afternoon, Debbie taught us how to make margaritas from scratch.
That was serious fun.
She spent a lot of time talking with the boys.
And loving on Nigel.
We even did some sightseeing.
Debbie is one of the loveliest people I know and having her here was a gift. So much so, it felt like Christmas in July here.
Speaking of Christmas, Debbie discovered a new meaning for it during her visit. Christmas in New Mexico also means both red and green chile on your breakfast burrito.

This breakfast looks very interesting!
And what a wonderful sister in law you have, who is doing the poo-transport to the vet 🙂

What about the home made margarita’s recipe? If I was Debbie, I wouldn’t have wanted to leave MB. We had lots of family around for the 4th also – good times!

Nancy,
Here goes with the margarita recipe:
Ingredients:
1. 1 cup simple syrup (take one cup sugar and one cup water, combine in small sauce pan and stir over heat until sugar is completely dissolved)
2. 2 cups tequila
3. 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
4. 1 cup triple sec
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher, stir. Pour into shaker with ice, shake quickly to chill, pour into glass with ice from shaker.
Have fun! 😀

See now, I was thinking the “presents” from the boys was the reference to Christmas. I forgot about the lovely idea of having Christmas in your sauces on the same plate. 🙂
It looks like Debbie had a wonderful visit, despite the poo aspect. I always told my kids, “It’s just recycled hay and grass. We like recycling don’t we?”
