Looks like Gracie Belle’s no wallflower.
If yesterday was any indication, she might be a pocket burro before we can say blueberry pie.

Gracie Belle is awash in confidence. She has handled herself through lots of tough years, and she knows Good from Dangerous.
This girl is going to be a real blessing to you and your herd.

Wow. I bet she had wifi and has been reading this blog. She’s one smart cookie for knowing when she’s got it good!

I notice the boys are eating out of the big bowl today. Did they all share, or did the boys move in when you were handing food to Gracie Belle?

Even better. They were all eating together out of the big tub. And again this morning. 🙂

Hooray!!! 🙂
Somehow I bet that if you were offering watermelon, she’d be eating out of your hand this evening.

She was meant to be at the MBF. You’ll be getting burro hugs from her in no time.

Justina, how long has Gracie been in captivity? Are you guys able to touch her yet? I know absolutely nil about burros but she doesn’t seem like a “wild” burro… Maybe she’s just very intuitive and feels the love…

Nancy,
She was captured in January of this year, so she’s been in captivity now for about eight months. We can’t touch her yet, but she’s coming around very quickly and is making huge leaps by the day. I’ll post more soon about where she was captured in Arizona.

I read the twitter posts as well…..oh how cool…she’s already talking to the neighbor donkey. And as for the sleeping with Patrick and Nigel….awwwwwwwww. Gracie Belle is gonna be ahead of the learning curve for lots of reasons…she’s a seasoned female and she has such a great place to let her hair down and relax. Happy days ahead for all of MBF. smooches and squoozes and some scritches for the beasties, Oma Linda

Suzan,
Here’s my definition…
A once wild and untouchable burro… now “in your pocket” because you’ve established a relationship based on trust with them. A once untouchable burro that because of trust, he or she is able to be handled, cared for and loved.

Oh Justina. I was on vacation all last week so I missed out on you getting Gracie. So pleased and happy for you. She looks like such a calm girl too. I know she’ll get along fine, and she may not know it, but she has found the best home a burro or any animal for that matter, can have.
Love,
Suzanne
