Do you recognize this beautiful donkey boy?
Can you believe it’s Patrick Patty Pat Pat?
If you remember him like this…
… it’s hard to believe this is him now, isn’t it?
We love him to pieces. Oh my, how we love him so.
He’s such a sweet, sweet boy and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.
Patrick Patty Pat Pat has undergone an incredible transformation this summer.
Here he is the night in March he came to Morning Bray Farm.
We loved him right from the start, even if he did look like an Ewok.
And here he is later in March, after his first comb out. He hated looking like a cotton ball.
He’s been very patient with us while we’ve spent hours brushing him this summer.
It’s amazing what five months of love can do, isn’t it?

I think he looked CUTE with all his fluff, despite the indication that nobody had been loving him. He looked like a fuzzybunny.
But now! He is one handsome boy.
Very soft, kind, deep eyes on that one.

Pat looks so much happier now 🙂
When they stand nose to nose like that I like to think that they are really talking to each other with more then just body language! 🙂

WOW. He looks totally different now, doesn’t he?
I noticed in one recent pic that he still had leggings on his back legs, but his Ewok impression has gone by the wayside.
He has such a sweet expression. When he looks at you, when he looks at his brothers….. What a good boy.

Vicki,
He’s saving the “hair extensions” on his legs for his Budweiser Clydesdale interview. 😀 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD6ghskNKa8

Yay for Patrick update!! How’s he blending into the herd? I noticed in one of Carson’s pictures from Gracie’s arrival that he was off to the side while the other 3 boyz were craning through the fence. Is he still Ellsworth’s special pal?
Patty-pat-pat is the way he makes your heart go, isn’t it? 😉

Flartus,
He’s completely and totally a part of the herd now. He’s extremely playful and is loved by all, but he and Nigel are quite inseparable these days. As the herd leader, Ellsworth always keeps a watchful eye on him.
We do love Patrick so. 🙂

I feel similarly about Patrick and Brad Pitt, I love them when they are scruffy and when they are clean-cut. But, my goodness, he has become a handsome donkey, hasn’t he?

may I use your picture of Patrick when you first got him? I also reported on the donkey roping on my blog and urged people to call, write and email the organizer, the media etc. Patrick’s picture by the fence just breaks your heart and to see him now it shows what love and care can do. I volunteer at a donkey rescue and we have some abused donkeys there too, and it is amazing how they relearn to trust and feel loved. Thanks for all you have done for your rescued donkeys.
