Yesterday Don and I took Bernard, Ellsworth and Patrick to visit Carson and the herd at 7MSN.
Patrick hadn’t been loaded into a trailer since he came to Morning Bray Farm back in March, and we worried about how he would do.
Something I never told you is that Patrick’s former people used a cattle prod to trailer load him.
Well, world, I’m here to tell ya… Patrick don’t need no cattle prod to load into a trailer. Our fluffy boy walked right in.
I was so excited that he could be part of the adventure yesterday. So happy that he got to experience the beauty of life.
It was interesting how the addition of Patrick made things feel different. It felt like a herd this time. Just like that, the boys played and played.
The icing on the cake was my best ride yet on Big Red. Thanks to Carson and Lucy, Big Red and I learned a ton, gained confidence and had a blast.
We practiced a one-rein stop, we trotted, we loped and we maneuvered up and down and through and over various obstacles. Big Red was cooperative, willing and confident. Life was beautiful yesterday!

I can’t think of a better way to spend a day. Patrick looks so happy! Getting into a trailer is a lot easier to do when your friends are going along for the ride. 🙂 So happy to hear you had another great ride on Ellsworth. I’m sure he felt the need to show off for Lucy. 🙂

Well goodness what a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing all the triumphs and happys with us. The “herd” does look like fun was afoot……and I am sure Gracie and Nigel took advantage of their friendship and built that bond. A win, win, win for everyone. Looking good.

So nice to see happy animals and people 🙂
You need an XL-trailer to carry all boys for a play date.
And Patrick is a cool donkey, went in the trailer as he does ist every day.

Finally, Big Red gets to show off his moves to Lucy. Was she suitably impressed?
Y’know, I never would have imagined having playdates for donkeys. I’m impressed at how well they get along. How long of a trip is it from your place to Linda’s? I sure hope the Boyz appreciate all you do for them, and each gave you a “thanks, Mom and Dad” as they left the trailer back home.

Flartus,
I kid you not… while we were at Carson’s on Sunday, Don asked me, “I wonder if we’re the only people on the planet who take their donkeys on play dates?” 🙂
It’s about an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes from MBF to 7MSN.
We know the Boyz appreciate everything… just as much as we appreciate them. 🙂

It’s absolutely marvelous for the children of yours to enjoy the trip as much as you and Don do! So glad that Fluffy took his trip to his heart and the same for the others! Those pictures as always bring smiles to my face! 😀

Tremendous. I’m so happy that Patrick got to go too, this time.
Although you left out important details as to if Hank thought you were his ice cream cone this time.

Cathy,
Hank was “licky,” but not as much this time. (I even took THE hat.) 🙂 Happily, he was part of the herd and all of their fun instead. 😀
