While doing yard work yesterday afternoon, Don came across a nest of baby mice in a warm and toasty dirt pile covered by a tarp on our driveway.
Don put the babies in a bucket so I could see them when I got home.
Of course I had to name them immediately. Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe… and Juan.

Lucky Bernard didn’t find that particular bucket!

How considerate (?) of Don to save them for you. Great names. Juan can be the poster boy for Morning Bray Farm Mouse Rescue.

At our house, we are mice/rat lovers. Jenna had pet rats for years. Smart and funny animals.
I’m guessing y’all found some far away field and set yours free? Can’t picture you or Don having at them with a shovel.

CeeCee,
We put them back onto the dirt pile and covered them back up with the tarp. We figured they’d be safe and warm there.

Ha, Ha! You guys sound just like us…savings any living thing and naming it! Wonder where Momma Mouse is? Are they old enough to survive on their own, I wonder?

Lilla,
We wondered where mama was too. She was nowhere to be seen. Since they have hair and their eyes are open, we figure they’ll be okay.

Love the way one tiny mouse slept on Don’s fingers! Is that the one you named Juan? They look so cute and adorable but glad that they are outdoors,,,

I can’t help it, ever since my first crush on a mouse we had in my kindergarten class, I’ve loved them. Of course, you do have to be cautious about hanta virus….These guys are adorable though, and Juan is a cute little chubby fellow.

Oh my, they are so cute!!
Look at these ears, so sweet. And the little feet. And the beady eyes.
Ok, that all does not count when one gets lost indoor….. so hope they don´t remember the way 🙂

How cute! My cats bring them to me! INTO THE HOUSE! Yes, sometimes they are dead, and sometimes alive! I have rescued more than one live mouse and set it free in the neighbors pasture! But ONE got away, and has been living in OUR house for a while! I found it this morning, expired in my craft room! UGH! ICKY! I hope there is not anymore! First time EVER I have had a mouse in my house!
