It was a grey and cold day when our good friends Cindy and Stanley visited us a couple of weekends ago. Cindy’s parents were in town for a visit and came along (there were two new donkey converts in the world before they left). As always, Bernard and Ellsworth were excellent donkey ambassadors:
Cindy and Stanley were eager to meet Patrick, Gracie and Buck for the first time:
And Don and I were eager to meet Cindy and Stanley’s new baby, Tristan:
Good friends are such a blessing, aren’t they? As always, they left us with beautiful images of the critters that we love:
Thank you, Cindy and Stanley. ♥ ♥ ♥

Thank you for your blog! I’m new to the world of blogs and donkeys, I’m the proud new mamma of 3 miniature donkeys and I am loving every minute of it; is it okay to want to sleep in the barn with them!! I’ve read your entire blog (at work, but don’t tell my boss!) and found myself choking back tears and laughing at so many of your stories. The heartfelt work you are doing to give your guys a great home is amazing and inspiring and sets the bar high for others to follow in your footsteps! I look forward to reading your blog (and Carson’s too) with my morning coffee. All the best to each of you and please give a few donkey butt scratches to your motley crew for me!

What a fun life you must lead with your donkeys! Our neighbors have at least one. It’s our five-o’clock whistle. It sounds off for supper every night at the same time. Makes us laugh every single time!

Love your photos of the donkeys! My daughter and I are attending Donkey Derby Days in Cripple Creek, CO next weekend (we’re your neighbors to the north) and are super-excited. It will be our second year. The donkeys have sooo much personality, as your images prove! Congrats on being Freshly Pressed.

Larva,
We don’t breed donkeys – we adopt and rescue. 🙂 I highly recommend it! Donkeys are wonderful, intelligent, affectionate, protective and entertaining creatures. We love them!
