I did bring some back to Denver once. There’s a place in Crofton that will pack ’em up hot to take to BWI with you. Only problem – styrofoam cooler. So we land in Denver and the cooler has cracked. One crab has fallen out on to the luggage carousel. I was on the carousel trying to get it, because that is GOLD by the time it’s gotten to Denver. The other passengers were horrified because they didn’t know what it was!
Got to the house that was hosting… She got that you had to put newspaper down first but had all her everyday plates and silverware out. Had to clear those off then teach a bunch of Denverites how to pick crabs! (They were still warm!) It was a really fun night!
What an awesome story – thank you so much for sharing it! LOL at the vision of you chasing a crab on the luggage carousel – and the plates and the silverware! 😀 I’m sure it was a fun night! We have live crabs shipped out to Albuquerque at least once a year from Maryland Blue Crab Express. It’s definitely a weekend we look forward to here! 🙂 Oh to be in Edgewater tonight… 🙂
