From arborday.org: Desert-Willow should be grown in full sun and is extremely drought-tolerant. While the trees will grow better with adequate moisture, they will not tolerate over-watering.

How can you have iris blooming in August?
I had to look up xeriscape . . . so how were these planted so as not to need watering?

I don’t remember ever seeing one until moving to New Mexico. They bloom for several weeks mid-summer and give such a beautiful splash of color! 🙂
