Poor baby Kassie has a banana on her foot.
She went to see the vet on Monday for an infected toe. We have no idea what happened, but we suspect either a squirrel bite or a bee sting.
Kassie is always on the lookout for squirrels. She takes her job of keeping the Morning Bray Farm squirrel population in check very seriously.
And she loves to eat bees.
Poor baby.

She doesn’t seem to mind the bandage. My dogs would have it off pdq!

Now bees I’ve heard of, but squirrel bites? I had no idea. I guess I’ve never had a dog get close enough to get one! Hope she’s feeling better soon.

A bite from Momma Squirrel maybe? Poor Kassie! But tell her the bandage looks daredevilish. (In German “verwegen”, something positiv. If my translation doesn´t work so please don´t tell her….)

Poor Baby! She seems to be a good girl though and leaves her ‘banana’ alone! Hoping she recovers quickly! Hugs to her and blessings to all,

Looks like she’s not letting it bother her! We had a dog who could not leave any stinging insect alone (every fall we’d get several every day inside the windows of our old farmhouse). I’d watch her grab a wasp/bee/hornet, spit it out and shake her head–“ow! sharp!”–then grab it again. She’d do this 3 or 4 times before finally killing it and gobbling it down! Rosie also loves to chase the giant carpenter bees outside, but she’s not any good at it. 😀

Awww, my poor baby, I do hope that she will leave the “banana” bandage alone! She didn’t take the other one off so she probably thinks that it’s okay to have it on… ❤

I see that a trend among the Young And Hip is to have one fingernail painted an “accent color.” Maybe baby Kassie likes having an accent leg! Stylish little hipster girl!

Oh dear! Poor Kassie! My Molly had an infected toe-nail bed several times. So many times they threatened her with amputation, but I talked them into yet another course of antibiotics, and then she got too old to charge around and injure it (leading to another infection).
She never minded being three-legged, but wouldn’t tolerate any wrapping on her foot. Off it came, the minute my attention was away from her for more than three seconds.
Good girl, Kassie, leave your bandage alone……
I hope your owchie is all gone soon!
