It was 10 years ago on June 3rd that my African Queens flew from Nairobi, Kenya to their new life in America.
Naturally, we had a party last week to celebrate their anniversary birthday.
My beautiful girls.
Still so polite.
Happy Birthday, Kike Coyote. Happy Birthday, Suni Lou Who.

Happy Birthday to the lucky girls! Barney and Max want to know what’s in the cake so their mom can make them one, too! 😉

Barney and Max,
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup honey
1 egg
Directions
Mix together flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients and mix well (it comes out more as a cookie dough than a cake batter). Press into a pie pan or tart dish and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
You’ll love it!

A very happiest of birthdays to the luckiest dogs in the world. I thought Suni was from the Bahamas/Jamaica? I remember now that it is Enzi. 🙂

CeeCee,
Thank you! Yes, Kike and Suni are from Nairobi and Enzi is from the Bahamas.
I fell in love with Kike because she reminded me so much of Enzi. Then the folks at the KSPCA told me that Kike had a sister, and of course, I couldn’t leave Suni behind. 🙂

Oh, my, they definitely ARE Ladies. Such table manners. And, Suni does look like Cindy Lou Who! That made me laugh – not at you Suni, with you.
Big hugs all ’round and lots of happy dancing.

Happy (Belated) Birthday to Kike and Suni, my granddaughters! What a shot of three girls including Enzi in the background and the first thing I noticed, they three have pretty much similar “Flying Nun” ears and they all looked so beautiful!!! xoxoxoxo

We spent the day in Dickerson on a glorious 4th of July and I looked up Dickerson History and your blog popped up. I never knew about the quarry, mostly I knew about Point of Rocks, but now I have to find the Dickerson train station, teeny thing that it is. And I have to get the book on Dickerson. The history of Maryland and the Allnutts and the cemetery on 109 just fascinate me. Your blog is delightful.
