7.31.13 addendum: Okay, my bad. I didn’t take the time to write a narrative for this post, and in doing so, created some confusion. We’ve had Meggie, a.k.a. Meggie Moo, a.k.a. the Moominator, since 2007.
While she is now very sweet, Meggie hasn’t always been this way. I think she’s mellowing with age, and I think she really enjoys being around us now. She still really digs a good scratch.
We got a boatload of rain last Friday, and the barn turnouts ended up under water. It’s because of that we decided to bring Meggie into the backyard with the Hairy Hacienda crew… and she loved it. She’s still in charge… and the girls and Whisky didn’t mind one bit.

Welcome to your new addition!!!! Love Maggie Moo’s flower! She is quite the lady. When are you going to get chickens? Our next door neighbor just put up a chicken coop and he keeps it immaculate and we really enjoy seeing them. We will not get a Maggie Moo in our neighborhood 😦 but we do like the chickens and did I mention how amazing the eggs taste??????

Tricia,
No chickens for now… only ducks. You can definitely taste the difference with fresh eggs, can’t you?! 🙂

What a sweetie. It looks like the canine crew are a little unsure of her. I’m sure they’ll all be best buds before long. Meggie looks good in pink.

Well Hello Miss Maggie Moo! You are a beautiful girl! Love your horns, and your flower. Pink is THE color for you, (purple and blue would be nice too) and I’m wondering if you might have a wardrobe of collars in lovely colors.
Looking forward to hearing more from you. I think you’ve landed in a very nice place!

If she didn’t have horns, you would have to look twice since she blends right in with the pack!

When my dogs get out with my chickens, a decree goes out across the land, “DO NOT get doggie kisses! They have been eating chicken poo!” Kisses thereafter are taken at the humans own discretion/peril.
