It’s a deer skull. I only know this because I kept the skull of my favorite deer that was hit by a car and died on my property (yes, I’m weird). Sharp edges on the teeth evidently mean the deer lived a good long life–think of equine teeth that haven’t seen a dentists. They get sharp edges.
Looks like that goat will hike anywhere you hike! Hope you’re loving your new home! Merry Christmas Justina and Don. If ya’ll come towards Charlotte, NC give me a shout – I’d love to meet in person!
Yes, Meggie wants to be with us all of the time now… even in the house if she can get away with it (and Motel 6 rooms, of course). 🙂
We promise to let you know if we’re in your neck of the woods… same goes if you’re ever over our way. We’d all love to meet you in person – including the donks.
Excellent question. 🙂 I think there’s a mixture of all of the above. Patrick, Bernard and Nigel seem the most interested and I’m not sure whether it’s more concern or curiosity at this point. I wonder about Patrick with cattle… his experience living with cattle wasn’t a positive one and I’m sure he hasn’t forgotten.
I’m sure it’s more curiosity for Bernard… and for now, I think Nigel just has Patrick’s back.
Tried to comment the other day, but the interwebs ate my words. Loving your new place! (Not a big fan of stark desert beauty–give me trees any day.) looks like everyone is adjusting. Are you getting more morning brays?
Merry Christmas to all!
Thanks so much! No, Harriet is still the only one to bray so far… but just a few moments ago, I saw Buck chasing Ellsworth up and down the pasture. 🙂 Merry Christmas to you too!
That’s what happens when you take a goat to Motel 6 🙂
I hope you sue the moving company for an insane amount of money.
Changes can be a bit tough. Please blog a lot so we can follow up and support ( and oh, ok, get news of all the creatures great and small 🙂

Meggie Moo is definitely living the good life. Now about that skull … it doesn’t look like any cow skull I know. Could it be a ….. bear?

Don was thinking deer? The teeth look kinda sharp, though. I’ll bet someone out there knows.

So strange that little Miss Moo is so attached to you now!
What does the herd think of the cattle neighbors? Scared, curious, indifferent??

If a goat hikes in the woods, does it still make a sound even if nobody is there to hear it? Oh, right, the photographer was there…
The fields make me swoon! Merry Christmas with your family!
