The forecast called for a winter storm to pass through yesterday morning, but as usual, we weren’t expecting any part of it. When we woke up, we were surprised with a dusting of snow.
By midday, you would have never known.

We had a similar snow on March 1st… it was all melted by March 2nd. Easy to live with snow that goes away that fast.

I’m in love with your barn – it’s so lovely. And I smile just knowing Ellsworth and Bernard are all cozy inside.
Brief, fleeting snow…that’s the best kind when it comes at almost the MIDDLE OF MARCH!

Beautiful barn and paddock layout. JAre those Skylights in your barn roof ? Just wondering how they’re working out for you. I’d think they’d let in lots of lovely light, but what about overheating the interior during your sunny summer ? Is that an issue for you, or does the heat just rise up into the elevated centre section ?

gazelle,
Thank you. Yes, those are skylights you see in the roof. They do let in lots of lovely light – I can’t imagine the barn without them. I don’t think they really overheat the interior, but yes, upstairs can get fairly warm in the summer. The good thing for us is that we have lots of windows and doors for ventilation and very often have at least a breeze.

The weather sure can be crazy at times. I still get a kick when there is blue sky above and it is raining!
