This is how we imagine Nigel would look in the winner’s circle at the Kentucky Derby. Simply stunning.

Absolutely beautiful, noble face! Looks like they are settling in well and Ellsworth and Bernard are not too jealous of sharing.

In looking at all four of your burro boys together, I have a question—is Ellsworth a different kind of donkey? It’s not really his coloring that has me wondering, but his whole shape.
The two new boys are stunning. They look like they came right off a breeders farm and not out of the desert. 🙂

CeeCee,
Ellsworth really is different, isn’t he? I had to check “the book” to find this information: “…there are hundreds of donkey breeds around the world (China has 18 all her own), we have only four in North America to select from, and only two of those are true American breeds. The four breeds of ass commonly found in North America are the American Mammoth, the Spotted Ass, the Poitou Ass, and the Mediterranean Miniature Donkey. Of those four, the first two are true American breeds, while the latter two are fascinating and historic breeds from France and Italy.” Bottom line, other than the fact he’s a large standard donkey, we don’t know exactly what breed he is. 🙂

I knew it! I hoped you would come home with two! YAY!!! So wish I was in a position to adopt one (2) as well!
May you all live long and happy lives together. Bless you and your husband and the “prisoners” who work so hard to make this happen.
