What!? Omigosh! You are amazing! I can’t wait to hear more…how you got him, what is name is, how the boys take to him. Wow, what a fascinating story you’re beginning.
Crying here now – just can’t believe this. But look at his face, I guess he will need time to stop expecting the next roping session. But with your love and care …
(And please let med know how I can make a small donation. Not that I have any thoughts on whether it is needed or not, but I think you deserve it – running a shelter like you do! 🙂 the best people in the world.)
Love you Justina !!!!
Hooray hooray hooray!!!
Now I have to stop crying an go on working…
Cant´t wait to hear more about him and see him happy on Mornig Bray Farm.
And I love that the post was from 4am. This leads me to imagine a midnight commando raid, with Bernard wielding bolt cutters, Fergus and Nigel keeping watch (with their OH so expressive ears) and Ellsworth coaxing the little guy “Come on, come on… we’re bustin you outta here and taking you to heaven on earth.”
Wow! Awesome news. Unless of course you are in trouble with the law now. 🙂
This poor guy is so far away, trying to hide from reality. I can’t wait to see what your love and care will do for him. I bet that you will have so many moments of overwhelming joy from this special relationship.
Dear Justina,
You have no idea how much love and gratitude I feel for you and your husband for saving this little boy. He is the luckiest donkey in the world today! When I read the title of your post I wanted to cry with joy and sadness. Joy for the love and respect he will have forever, and sadness at what he has endured at the hands of callous people. But this is a time to focus on the joy and on all of the little donkey dreams that you have made come true for this sweet boy.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving this one. His picture had simply broken my heart and I could not stop thinking of him-obviously neither could you.
You are both incredible people for opening your hearts!
I hope he knows how many people already love him!
Many many hugs your way!
Sue and the crew
I just couldn’t believe when you called last night to tell us you had a new donkey in your corral – I am *so* incredibly happy for this little guy. That you managed to get him away from that horrible, disgusting place is just a testament to your and Don’s incredible hearts, perseverance and courage.
((Hug))
So looking forward to watching him bloom. Bernard will put some life back in those sad eyes. So happy for him and for you as well. Congrats on taking him in!
Suzanne
Justina, you have the courage of your convictions. I’m as proud of you as I am happy for little lucky jack. Definitely time now for some BrayWear designs for fund raising. There certainly isn’t much to choose from in donkey-adorned apparel and jewelry! Looking forward to all the photos and stories to come. Much love and encouragement, Linda and Oklahoma Sam.
Wonderful and God bless you and your husband! I’m looking forward to the day when this little fellow realizes that he’ll never be roped again, and seeing the life come back into his expression.
thank goodness!!! I have NOT been able to get this little guy out of my thoughts since you posted the first pictures of him. thank you for rescuing him!!!
Bless you! This poor little guy will soon realize he’s living in donkey paradise! Did you take him in an undercover raid? I can’t wait to hear the story!
Justina and Don…..you are so wonderful. Bless you both. Lucky donkey can now live like a prince among princes at your place of love. Bless you both. The Olde Bagg, Linda
Tears began to fall the second I read the title. So many questions are running through my mind right now, but, in the end, only one answer matters. He is safe. God bless you Justina & Don!
Lol…it cracks me up how everybody is ready to believe you guys STOLE him in a navy SEAL type night rescue. You…you Donkey Abductors you! Well, I’m only checking EVERY HOUR to see if there are new pics 🙂
Fantasic you two!!! Cannot wait to hear the story on getting him to your place. I too cannot wait to see the smile in his eyes. Here I was excited to hear about your visit at Carson’s and find this. What a great surpirse!
Tears of Joy ! Thank you making a difference … One Donkey at a Time.
Taking the halter off says it all. His poor face looks like it hasn’t been off in years.
So many Commenters think you Donkey-napped him. You wouldn’t do that would you ? And yet it does seem to have been dark out when these pics were taken. Hmmmm …
That is exactly the plan. In addition to writing a letter to the local county commissioner, we’re going to take up a collection to buy a mechanical roping dummy. I’ll work on having something out in the next couple of days.
O.M.G.!!! I came to my computer late this afternoon and find out that time has really flipped over and you have managed to rescue that beautiful little boy! Since my SIL busted a dog out of holding pen one time, I can’t be blamed for thinking as others did that you made a midnight raid to rescue Patrick! You and Don are absolutely wonderful. Anxious to see how Patrick grows in his new freedom.
You are wonderful people. This good work will return to you; I know that’s not what prompted you to save him, but it’s nice to know you have a credit balance with the Universe.
OH.MY.GOD. I did not guess this was in this poor animal’s future when I read that heartbreaking post. Thank you for a needed respite from a constant diet of bad news. It makes me wish to rescue one too, and then send it to YOU for the help it needs.
Hmmmmmm…..
Okay, everyone… I must set the record straight before things spiral out of control. 😀 For the record, we did not make a midnight raid to rescue Patrick. 😀 I’ll fill you in on all of the details tomorrow, but for now, please know that we didn’t break any laws. 🙂
Something tells me I’ve missed out an awful lot here. There’s a new boy in town, and I know one thing’s for sure… he won’t be sad anymore. Thanks for all that you do for these wonderful babies. I can’t wait to find out more about what I’ve missed. Hugs from me and my gals! 😉
