Ducks can grow as pets. Some do enjoy being held and cuddled… it depends on the duck and its individual personality.
From Storey’s Guide to Raising Ducks:
“Some people extol the Muscovy as being the sweetest-tempered of all ducks, while others insist that they are nothing short of the fabled Tasmanian Devil incarnated in duck form.”
So glad to know that Leland is improving better and goodness, it isn’t a month, yet since I last saw them on May 2nd and indeed, they do grow like weeds!!!
I see my favorite that she hasn’t lost her spots and I hope that she will remain the same when she gets to be full grown so I will still recognize her and the rest, too! ๐
First, I must say, I’m so delighted that Leland is feeling better! Your little ducklings are certainly not little anymore…and I’m envious of your gardening skills!
How cute those duck pics are in the sprinklers!!! Phew! They have grown!tho! They have a happy life!Glad Lelands feeling better! He looks soOOOOo handsome!and perky!
Oh my goodness, there are the “after” pictures; but there are no in-between pictures! Do they still have down at that size? They look like they could be fledged out already. (Obviously, I don’t know much about ducks!) ๐
Iโm so glad to know that Leland is feeling better!!
Sounds the ducks had a fun time with the lawn sprinklers.
Your vegetable garden looks beautiful too!
Iยดm glad that Leland is feeling better!
Wow, the ducklings are really growing fast. So the swimming area hast to be enlarged soon ๐
Hm raspberries…….. may they grow like the ducklings!

Can ducks grow as pets, do they enjoy being held and cuddled or do they have more of a chicken-like indifference?

The sprinkler pictures belong in Idioms Illustrated (taking to it like a duck to water).

Yay! Happy Dancing for Leland!
I love your ducks and the shot of them in the sprinkler is the cutest. Okay, one of the cutest…there have been so many, who can chose?
P.S. I love that Bernard & Ellsworth showed up to cheer Lucy on at the clinic. They’re such good guys.
