Our prayers brayers were answered yesterday afternoon when we got word that the Town of Van Horn had announced the cancellation of Saturday’s donkey roping competition.
We’d like to express our gratitude to each and every one of you who played a part in making this happen. Thank you for your phone calls, emails, blog posts, letters and brayers. They worked! ♥
If you have a moment today, please join Patrick in thanking the people of Van Horn, Texas for making the right decision.

Justina, now is the time for thanks to those that you have listed as well high fives all round for everyone who did anything that helped in making this happen. I already told Carson that a caped crusaders costume is in the works. How could it not be? I think Patrick is a fine “poster” child but he needs a distinctive super hero cape and so it shall be.
This is so wonderful. I haven’t stopped crying in a week and today is no exception…..only this time it is tears of joy.

Wonderful news, put me on cloud 9. It is wonderful to be part of a process that stops an unnecessary and harmless event and makes for a better future for the donkeys. This one is for Patrick!
Thank you Carson, Justina, and Don for leading this effort!

This is the wonderful news — but we’re not done!!
Please let us know how to support Mark Myers in the transporting and safe keeping of these gentle donkeys. Any way of documenting, blogging, step by step the transportation of the donkeys to their new home and then all these fantastic bloggers and others donating to their upkeep???
