The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) is in town this weekend for the Ty Murray Invitational.
Can you believe the average PBR bucking bull weighs in at 1,700 to 1,800 pounds? PBR bucking bulls very rarely weigh less than 1,200 pounds, but at the high-end can weigh from 2,000 to 2,200 pounds. Very impressive, those bulls.

Bull riding is the only sport in rodeo that I can abide. If a man wants to climb up on a 2,000 lb. animal and give it a go, then more power to him. He’s not going to hurt that bull one bit. 🙂
I saw one too many accidents involving the animals (calves, broncs, donkeys) when I was younger and now can’t watch it.

CeeCee,
Those bulls were throwing some of those cowboys around like ragdolls last night. On the other hand, I could see how it’s possible for a bull to get hurt too… to be honest, I still have mixed feelings about bull riding.

Had no idea you two were PBR fans. Learn something new every day. If you haven’t watched “Eight Seconds,” about Lane Frost, add it to your queue. (George Michael is in it.)

Carson,
I got the tickets as one of Don’s Christmas presents. It was my first PBR event. Thanks for the tip on “Eight Seconds.”
