Yesterday felt like a glorious spring day. Even Lenny came out to enjoy the warm sunshine.
Like all of us here, he was happy to bask in the golden rays. He even had a sparkle in his eye.
Hello, Leonard. Did you sleep well?

Our squirrels are out all winter long, terrorizing the bird feeders!
Some people call them tree rats, but I just call them cute and hungry.
And they are an endless source of fascination to the Schnazuer boys who love to chase them but have never caught one, ever. 🙂

C,
Kassie loves to chase them as well. Unfortunately, she has caught a few.
Have a glorious day! 😀 😀 😀

Love the way you’ve captured his whiskers! It makes perfect sense that squirrels would have whiskers, but I’ve never seen them before.
We had a balmy day (in the 30s F) yesterday, too. At least — while we were running errands it was balmy. When Wibbs and I went out around 3:00, the wind had come up (and the sun was lower than at 1:00), and it wasn’t so nice any more, alas.
The sun was out all day, though, and that always makes it better.

Vicki,
Here’s hoping that you and Wibbs have another sunny day today. There’s a beautiful day in store for us here.

Rosanne,
I think he had quite the winter store this year. We just found another one of his stashes in our garage two weekends ago… he’s got them everywhere!

Hi there, Lenny. You’re one handsome dude! Could I send some Colorado squirrel friends to keep you company?

So is Lenny really one specific squirrel?
My neighbor had two (out of hundreds) that she could tell them apart. Lumpy would actually come up to her glass door, put a paw on it, as if to look in and say, ‘Hey, you! We need more feed out here.”

Cyndi,
No, he’s not one specific squirrel. We’ve just gotten into the habit of calling all of our squirrels Lenny. 🙂 There is one burrow that several of them live in just on the other side of the fence behind our property. Thankfully (or not), there are quite a few predators here to keep their population numbers under control.
That is so cute about Lumpy. We had a squirrel in Maryland that would come up to our sliding glass doors to wait for his daily serving of peanuts.

Pia,
No worries. I too was looking at these pictures and thinking that he looked more like a miniature groundhog or prairie dog and less like a squirrel. 🙂 Maybe it’s because he’s a little chunker? 😉

I hope that means you were also basking in glorious sunshine this weekend. I actually sat outside this afternoon and ate a bowl of ice cream while the dogs enjoyed their Frosty Paws. 😀

Yay! Lenny is back up. Did he see his shadow? Are we due for six more weeks of winter? I certainly hope not. I am seriously DONE with the cold weather we have been having.
