It was time again yesterday for one of the best parties of the year.
Some of the coolest cats dogs in Albuquerque were there to celebrate.
We were all there to recognize the work of some of the top therapists in town.
All of these dogs are volunteers with the pet therapy program at one of our local hospitals.
They provide the best therapy and the most important medicine possible… L-O-V-E. ♥

I had no idea you did this with your dog! I used to do therapy work with Grady until he started having so many skin issues. I’m thinking about getting involved again. Isn’t it the most wonderful thing! What do you do? Grady’s favorite stops were those with kids – particularly the Paws to Read program and Ronald McDonald house.

Michelle,
I’d like to do this with one of the Hairy Hacienda Five, but no… I don’t. I was at yesterday’s party as a guest. 🙂

It takes a special kind of dog to be a therapy dog. The ones at Casa Fry do not qualify.

What a wonderful thing to do!!
Often thought about doing this with my dog Harley. Thanks for bringing this subject up, it has once again got me to thinking.
God Bless all the wonderful people and pets that make a difference in the lives of those who need a pick me up.

Hooray for the dogs! I know that if I were hospitalized I would dearly love a visit from a fuzzy friend!
Several years ago one of our teachers started bringing her lab to school. Kids would cuddle with the dog, read books to the dog, tell their secrets to the dog… it was very special. Sadly, one parent complained and the teacher had to leave her kiddie therapist at home 😦

To be volunteers in the local hospitals is really a wonderful thing to do.
Congratulations to all these brave and kind dogs and their owners.

I know I would feel so much better, stuck in the hospital, if I could pet a dog……..

Dyno passed his exam to be a therapy dog – then life took over and upended our apple cart. We’re going to have him redo his exam this summer and get him some heavy petting gigs. 🙂

That is so awesome! I want to do this with my dog, but there just isn’t much support for it around here. 😦 Gorgeous pictures of gorgeous dogs.
