Just like that, our boy is now a man.
Big Red got his first headstall, bit and reins on Saturday.
Ryan selected an eggbutt snaffle bit to get Ellsworth started.
Ellsworth took to it like an old pro.
I’m so proud of him.
A few adjustments were necessary, but as always, Ellsworth was very patient.

Nothing bothers that boy…I mean man. Somebody needs to bring her video camera over for one of these lessons.

Just looking at how well he’s doing, you’d think he’d done it all his life (and we know tht’s not the case)… Love him…I can feel his sweet spirit…

Ellsworth must like Ryan or else he may not adapt as well as he had! He looked mighty proud of himself in one picture with his eyes closed and a big grin on his face! ❤

Hug is neck for me. You have a great reason to be proud of him, but don’t let Ryan take all the credit. He wouldn’t be able to work with him, if it weren’t for all the love and positive attention he gets from y’all.

I love Ellesworth even more! *grin* He has a look on his face like, “Yeah, so what’s the big deal. Hang on a minute, I’ve gotta adjust my tongue a bit… uh…yup…okay, we’re good.” Ryan seems like a great guy, good with animals and totally confident, which no doubt translates to the critters he’s working with. Good man, there.

Hi ya MBF peeps and donks. It is so wonderful to see Big Red doing his best donkey thang. He is such a sweetie pie. Love the smiles Da Boys have to share with us lowly human “beans”. The kiddos got such a kick out of seeing him this morning…..true love is marked by true concern…………they both thought his ears back might mean he was a little concerned at first….then Ry (the guru of donkeys sans Barnyard) said, “nah, I think Big Red is trying to listen for the instructions so he can get it right”. Well there ya go and now we know.
smooches and squeezes, Casa de Cuckoos
