Izzy’s ducklings will be five weeks old on Sunday.
I swear they grow bigger with every breath they take.
Their feetsies are getting ginormous and they’re already sprouting feathers.
We haven’t named any of them yet, but one still looks like Izzy Junior.
Izzy loves her babies.

I love their sweet eyes. So gentle and quiet. Does Izzy let you near the babies or is she too protective?

CeeCee,
It depends… if I’m bringing breakfast, lunch or dinner, she’s good. If we pick any of them up, she has a total hissy fit… complete with stomping her feet on the ground!

Golly, the ducklings have grown so much since I held one of them in my hand the night before I flew home. They look so big and beautiful. Izzy certainly looked so proud to have her little ones.

Those 5 little ducklings have grown quite fast. Can the mother hen fly? I hope the family remains tame so that you can keep posting pics of them.
As I grew up on a farm here in central Texas I loved to watch our muscovy ducks fly from the barnyard to the stock tank. Domesticate muscovy ducks can not fly for a long distance or so the info says.
It seems there is a vast difference between the feral native muscovy and the dometicated ones. The feral muscovy duck, according to the literature, is a good flier in its native habitat of Mexico, Central America, and South America.
I knew the ducks originated from South America so I “googled the ducks” before making this comment.

Yes, Izzy can fly. We normally clip the wings of our females, but have decided to let Izzy’s be for now while she’s raising her babies… just in case.

I can’t believe it’s been five weeks since they were born. Time flies with young ones around. They are so cute. I wished we could have ducks and chickens and donkeys and horses. I would have a small zoo or animal farm.

The babies are so big and so cute! I didn’t know they grew so fast. That one looks like he has clown duck feet on. I’d love to pick them all up and hug them.

Just adorable. Amazing they stay little for … minutes, it seems. Little Missy sitting all fluffed out looks just beautiful with the lighting.
