When Mom got home from work yesterday, there were some interesting sounds coming from the pasture. Was Abigail in a crabby mood? Was she being playful?

What do you think?

Yesterday was glorious. With warm weather and sunshine, Ellsworth by my side and a bed of straw in which to lay under the goat port, what more could I need, you ask?

Mom, could I have a pina colada with my straw please?

   Oh dear, he’s feeling tropical.

With a pineapple slice and a maraschino cherry?

 No, Bernard.

Last, but certainly not least, we’d like to introduce you to the masters of escape here at Morning Bray Farm. If there’s a way out, rest assured that Leland and Abigail will find it.  (Remember to click on any photo for a larger view.)

This is Leland,

and this is Abigail.

A modification or two has been made to our fences and gates since their arrival one year ago. We love that they keep us on our toes.

We love weekends and the opportunity to spend time together as a family. We were hanging out in the pasture yesterday afternoon when something caught Ellsworth’s attention.

Someone’s coming.

It’s our very nice neighbors. Ellsworth is so excited, but Bernard decides to hang back with Mom.

We see our neighbors out riding quite often, but this is the first time we’ve really stopped to chat. After Mom proudly introduces us to them, they share a story.

“Bernard and Ellsworth are so cute! They’re such characters. One day as we were riding by, we saw Bernard pick up that five gallon bucket and start beating Ellsworth with it!”

Bernard!

We can totally see Ellsworth out on a Sunday afternoon trail ride with the big dogs horses one day soon.

You can imagine with five dogs, the Hairy Hacienda needs its fair share of vacuuming.

While everyone else does their best to avoid or attack the vacuum, Whisky absolutely loves to be vacuumed. He begs for it.

Seriously? Look at this face.

The sky was simply gorgeous yesterday afternoon.

For Nancy, the color versions.

Last week, Farmgirl asked about Bernard’s size. While we think that he probably won’t grow but another inch or two taller at the very most, he definitely has filled out over the last six months.

This is the very first picture we took of Bernard last August when he was a year old.

And here is our Goober today. We can’t imagine life without him. (Thank you to Aunt Linda who took all of Bernard’s “today” pictures last month.)

Are you smiling?

Momma and Baby Boy are American Blackbelly sheep. When they came to Morning Bray Farm one year ago, Baby Boy was just a week old. Their extremely docile nature makes them such a calming influence on our farm.

This is Baby Boy at one week. He was so cute you could’ve sopped him up with a biscuit.

This is Baby Boy today. Isn’t he handsome? We can’t wait to watch his horns grow.

Momma is the best mom we’ve ever seen.

If one of us has something the other wants – which is generally everything, even if it’s something as simple as a stick… the other’s gotta have it too.
